Patti Edson

Patti joined UVA’s School of Data Science in January 2019 and is the Associate Director of Admission and Financial Aid. Prior to DSI, Patti was Director of Undergraduate Admissions at UVA’s Frank Batten School of Leadership & Public Policy. At Batten, she led the school’s efforts to increase the number of applications from underrepresented minority and first-generation students applying to the policy school. A first-generation student herself, Patti is passionate about understanding and dismantling the barriers to success that first-generation students face as undergraduate and graduate students. She is also the proud mother of two daughters, a recent UVA graduate and a UNC/Chapel Hill undergraduate.
